Help Fiona walk again

Fiona photoHer name is Fiona and she is an English Bulldog. Both of her rear knees are blown and have been for at least the past 6 months. Her owner cannot afford to have the surgery done. The quote from the veterinarian's office was $4,000 and they would not let her make payments. Fiona is only 5 years old and in great pain ...can barely walk and pushes so much of her weight to her front end that her legs are getting more bowed due to the stress. The owner has taken her to another veterinarian who has offered to do the surgery for half the price. Can we help this woman pay for Fiona's surgery? Please consider donating through the Paypal "Donate" button on the left and help Fiona live a normal, pain-free life.
UPDATE:  Fiona had surgery on one of her hind legs on Monday (8-23); her "mom" says the doctor said it was the worst knee he'd ever seen. Fiona's home and resting comfortably; she'll have surgery on the other leg in a few months when this one is healed. There have been requests to donate directly to her surgery fund through her vet's office; it's Animal Hospital of Las Cruces, 3171 N. Main St., Las Cruces NM, 88001; phone (575) 541-6610. Be sure to specify that the donation is for Fiona. You can also donate here by clicking the Paypal "Donate" button on the left.

Who we are
Check out Happy Tails!

The Dona Ana County Humane Society, founded in 1955, is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in our region. We do this by working to change local rules and laws regarding animal welfare, promoting spay and neuter through both financial support and marketing, and educating the public about humane practices.

We are not a shelter; however, we do support our local shelter, the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley. We act as a facilitator among local animal welfare organizations, as well as between animal organizations and the city/county, in order to bring about change and create a better world for our animal companions.
